Wind Direction: Wind Stength: Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny and warm Max Speed: Distance Covered: Saturday 4th May - walk ***** – Falkenham circuit including a picnic at the church – sunny and warm. Amazing day, well done Ipswich Town on our promotion to the Premiership:) After yesterdays foul day of non-stop rain we had a sunny warm start to the Bank holiday weekend, a bit of a nervous morning with Ipswich Town kicking off at 12.30 for a place in the Premiership with our son Robert a keen fan on tenterhooks in Devon, in the end things turned out well and Ipswich are in the top fight for the first time in over 20 years! For the second day running I was surprised to get a pic on BBC National weather:) Then after breakfast I did my exercises in the back garden while Mag pottered and the garden is looking lovely at the moment! I then packed a picnic and as it was the start of a holiday weekend we decided to get away from the crowds and head inland to Falkenham Church, we needed to give the van a run to see if the engine was still missing after the garage yesterday had done a couple of things, the van is much better but it is still missing now and again, so who knows whats going on? We arrived at Falkenham Church at 1.45 and had a really peaceful lunch not seeing a soul, in fact we only saw two other humans all afternoon, just perfect! We had the Merlin bird app going which recorded several including a buzzard, in fact we saw 5/6 today! Then at 2.15 we set off along the footpath through rolling Suffolk countryside with stunning views down to the River Deben, we spotted several butterflies but no deer or hares:( We did get get a little muddy walking past the the small farm reservoir and the hedgerows are full of hawthorn blossom and the cow parsley is lovely, so all in all a great day. The good weather continues tomorrow and we are having the lovely Maeva for the day too:) Photo Album here |
